Let’s Talk Training
That new pupper or kitty that you just brought home does not come pre-programmed with good manners and house training. So, for the first few months that your new pet is home, you should invest in pet training products like puppy toilet training products for petsand learn from a professional on how to train your pet effectively to obey house rules.
Potty Training for Kittens and Puppies
Kittens are much easier to train than puppies when it comes to potty rules. They are naturally clean and fastidious so you just need to show your kitten where the litterbox is and maybe place them in it a couple of time so they pick up that they need to use it. Remember to use cat litter that is safe for kittens. Kittens may eat some of the litter and one that has a lot of chemicals or will block their intestines will be dangerous for them.
Pups tend to go back to the same spots to pee again and again. So use something like Simple Solution’s odour and stain remover for pets that remove all trace of the pee to prevent repeat marking. You should also take your puppy outside the minute he or she wakes up and just after meals, as this is most likely when they will pee.
Speak to a trainer to understand how to go about effectively teaching your pet the rules of the house. Any training will need ample patience from you. Beating and shouting at your pet will not only frighten the poor puppy but also not help your pet understand what you are angry about. Besides potty training, you should also teach your pet to respond when his or her name is called, crate train your pup and teach him or to her walk at heel. This last one is especially useful for large dogs.

Can I train my dog to walk at heel with a martingale collar?
A dog martingale collar is designed as a training collar – it has a limited cinch, which makes it more humane than the choke chain. However, just buying a martingale collar will not help. Your pet needs to understand the connection between how he is walking and the uncomfortable cinch at the neck. We strongly recommend that you speak to a trainer on how to use the martingale collar effectively. This is only meant for training purposes and should not replace your pet’s conventional collar or harness. Using a martingale without fully understanding how can lead to it damaging your pet’s neck.Show Less
